characters pay homage

The second new addition to my camera menagerie is the Ricoh FF-3 AF. A very loud camera with a limited light range, but small (ish), rugged, and easy as pie to use. I like the way that it blurs around the edges, and does strange things to color.

I’ve walked by these statues for many many years. It’s kind of weird, the author’s characters staring up at his bust….burrr.

Hey, so as you may know, I am a bit of an obsessive seeker of all things delicious. I scorn the use of ‘foodie’ because of its overuse and general lameness. ANYWAYSS….one of my many secret quests is the Sandwich Quest (not to be confused with the Ice Cream Quest, or the Pupusa Quest, or the Taco Quest). I’ve been primarily focusing my energies on the bah minh, those amazing and delicious Vietnamese sandwiches, but try to eat as many things between two slices of bread whenever possible. And so it is by chance that I find myself downtown early last Monday to brave the line at The Sentinel, Denis Leary’s (of Canteen) sandwich shop. The sandwiches are not cheap (8-10 dollars), but interestingly described. I choose the Ruben, I love a good corned beef.

It was very delicious, salty meat, nice dressing, melty cheese, good bread, and generous pickles. Also an excellent slaw dressed with oil and vinegar, I think. Definitely worth the wait.
